QQ Player

When you want to watch a movie, you load it with a video player. If you need to convert it to a supported format, you have to search for special software. Some media players include extra options, so you do not have to search for separate applications, but QQPlayer player lets you perform mostly any task. It is an all-in-one package, which supports numerous media formats and it is capable of converting, splitting, compressing and much more.

The setup kit is 29 Mb large, which may take some time to download with slow Internet connections, but, considering the application's capabilities, you can be sure that your patience will be rewarded. QQPlayer is free and you can use it without any limitations or hidden restrictions.

Looking at its interface, you would agree that QQPlayer is similar to most media players on the market. The playback controls are located on the bottom edge of the interface, you can switch to different view modes with a series of options, located in the upper left corner, and so on. If you take a minute to study the interface closely, you will see that QQPlayer has much more to offer.

The software is capable of playing a very wide range of video and audio formats, including stereoscopic (3D) movies. You can also play web videos if you provide their URLs. While playing a video, you can access a series of options for taking snapshots, creating animated GIF files, splitting the video, converting or compressing it, transferring the media to an iPad, via WiFi and more. You can find all these functions in a small menu, which will pop up after clicking a button on the interface.

Some of the previously mentioned features will take effect immediately, like the snapshot function, others will bring up a small window, where you need to make a few selections. For example, if you activate the converter, an options window will appear on the screen, where you will find the loaded video added to a list, and various options for selecting an output format and quality. Other features require clicking and dragging two key frames along the video's timeline. You will have to do this when splitting a video or creating an animated GIF.

Another useful feature is the software's trace cleaner. The options can be found in a different pop up menu and you can use them to clear the history of your loaded media files or set the player to clear them automatically when you close it. The menu contains options for opposite actions as well. You can add bookmarks and set the player to save recent files automatically.
